Ben Affleck is reprising his role as Batman in the upcoming Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Their return was announced by the film’s star Jason Momoa in an Instagram post, which featured a selfie of both the actors. “Found again,” Momoa wrote. “Bruce and Arthur. Love You and Miss You Ben WB Studio Tour explores the backlot properly. AQUAMAN 2 busts out all the great things to come. All my Aloha J.”
Along with the two images, Momoa posted a short video of Warner Bros.’s Backlot tour that clearly explored Affleck’s involvement in the film. “Well, it’s not a fucking secret anymore!” Momoa joked before featuring the Batman actor in his trailer.
Affleck previously played the Caped Crusader in a series of films set in the DC Extended Universe. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League and Suicide Squadand initially announced his retirement from the role in 2019. But it was later announced that Affleck would return as Batman. glowWhich is set to release in 2023, and we now know that he will also appear in the Aquaman sequel.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson wore a cape for Batman’s most recent solo trip, Batman, And will return for a sequel. Affleck had originally hoped to direct, co-write, and star in the Batman-fronted film, before walking away from the project.
