It’s been a few years since Blizzard hosted a personalized edition of its fan convention, BlizzCon, but it looks like that’s going to change in 2023. The company is known for having huge franchises like world of Warcraft And diablo“Committed to Bringing BlizzCon Back in 2023,” Told Blizzard Boss Mike Ybarra Los Angeles Times,
“We previously announced that we were taking a break at BlizzCon while we remodel it for the future, but would like to return to a live event that enables us to celebrate the community.” Yabra said. “We recently hired a new BlizzCon leader, April Mackie, who has been hard at work on that plan. … We are committed to getting BlizzCon back in 2023.”
It’s unclear when the incident might have happened, and when reached for comment, Activision Blizzard pointed back to what Yabara said. Los Angeles Times, The company last hosted an in-person BlizzCon in November 2019, but the 2020 and 2021 iterations were canceled due to COVID-19. While it hosted a virtual “BlizzConline” event in 2021, the planned 2022 edition of that event was put on hold after allegations of the company’s toxic work culture surfaced last year.
BlizzCon isn’t the only big gaming event returning next year. E3 didn’t happen this entire June, but the Entertainment Software Association is planning to bring it back as a physical and digital event. in 2023, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest will return with a digital and in-person event, marking a potential clash of Summer Gaming Conferences.
