Facebook’s app for Smart TVs, which lets users tune into various videos, shows and livestreams on the platform, may no longer be available on Apple TV, as previously reported. 9to5Mac, Some users say that they are no longer able to access the app after the most recent update.
in a formula MacRumors, a user shares an image of the notice he received after trying to open Facebook Watch on his Apple TV 4K: “The Facebook Watch TV app is no longer available, but you can still see a lot of videos on Facebook at www.facebook.com Can get. /watch.” Several other users report having similar experiences.
Facebook launched its Watch app on Apple TV in 2017, after first launching on Samsung Smart TVs. The app is available on many other smart TVs and consoles, as well as Facebook’s mobile app and desktop site. Users who still want to use the Watch app on the Apple TV should be able to cast Watch to their TV from their phone, but it’s obviously not as convenient as opening an app.
It’s unclear if the Facebook Watch app is no longer available due to a glitch triggered by a recent update, or if Facebook pulled the app from the Apple TV altogether. Apple TV is still listed as one of the supported platforms for Facebook Watch. ledge Apple and Facebook reached out with requests for comment but did not immediately hear back.
