How to Set a Sleep Schedule in iOS

With iOS 14, Apple introduced the ability to set your sleep schedule in the Health app. The feature itself isn’t too complicated. You figure out how many hours you’d ideally like to achieve each night, then set a set bedtime and wake up time that’s consistent with that goal.

Of course, you can always set a one-time or repeating alarm within the Clock app. The main reason you choose Sleep Schedule instead is because it allows you to set a specific goal and automate sleep routines more easily. For example, you can automatically launch Sleep Focus mode at your scheduled bedtime and set a sleep reminder. If you use the Apple Watch or any other sleep tracker/sleep app, you can be notified whenever you meet or exceed your sleep goal.

You are not limited to just one sleep schedule. This can be a useful tool if your job, class or morning fitness schedule varies from day to day. But before you can set multiple schedules, you need to set up your first one. to do that:

Drag the bed and alarm icons on the slider to set your schedule.

  • open Health Application.
  • tap browse Tab on the bottom right.
  • Scroll down and tap Sleep, you should watch set sleep Window. tap get started switch. (If you don’t see this option, don’t worry—just skip to the next section.)
  • set one sleep target How long do you want to sleep each night? then tap next,
  • Set your first schedule by choosing which days you want it to be active. run bedtime and wake up Slider for when you want to go to bed and wake up. You can do this by dragging the bed and clock icons.
  • If you want a wake up alarm, turn the toggle on. Below the alarm toggle, you can select the alarm sound at the bottom Sounds and HapticsSet alarm volume, and turn it on or off Snooze toggle. One quirk: You can’t select a song for a sleep schedule alarm like you can with other alarms set in the Clock app.
  • tap next, You will then be asked to set up sleep focus mode, but you can leave it on if you want. You can set it anytime by going to Settings > Focus on your iPhone.

Once you’ve set up your initial schedule, you can add as many sleep schedules as you want. To create additional sleep schedules:

  • Follow the first three steps above.
  • Scroll down to Your Schedule section. tap Full Schedule and Options,
  • Under the Full Schedule heading, scroll down and tap add schedule,
  • Choose which days you want to keep the schedule active.
  • run bedtime and wake up Slider for the appropriate hour. You can do this by dragging the bed and clock icon.
  • If you want to set an alarm, toggle the switch on alarm toggle. You can customize your options for Sounds and Haptics And Snooze Here.
  • tap add in the upper-right corner.

Customizing sleep schedule settings

There are also several customization options in the sleep settings of the Health app. For example, you can set up a wind down window by going to Health > Sleep > Full Schedule & Options > Additional Details > Wind Off, Your wind down window can be set anywhere from 15 minutes to three hours before your scheduled bedtime. At that point, it will automatically trigger your phone’s sleep focus. (You can also turn this setting off by going to Health > Sleep > Complete Schedule > Use Schedule for Sleep Focus,

Sleep focus mode is one of the preset focus modes that Apple introduced in iOS 15. you it. can be accessed by going to Settings > Focus on your iPhone. If you enable Sleep Focus, you can edit which people and apps are able to contact you as well as edit your homescreen and lock screen. inside Full Schedule and Options Settings, you can adjust your sleep goal as well as change other settings. In additional information In the section, you can choose to enable Track Time in Bed with iPhone, Sleep Reminder or Sleep Result.

If your schedule changes or the schedule you initially set doesn’t work for you, there are several ways to edit your sleep schedule. Here are some ways to do it:

  • In the Sleep menu of the Health app, scroll down Full Schedule and Options section. below complete schedule Header, you should see a list of your schedules. Below each, you should see a blue edit Contact. Tap it to tweak your schedule.

  • On the Apple Watch, open the Sleep app, which is represented by a turquoise icon with a white bed. To edit only your next alarm, tap the displayed schedule labeled next, If you want to edit a schedule permanently, tap complete schedule switch. From here you can tap on the schedule you want to edit or create a new schedule by tapping add schedule, If you scroll all the way down, you can also edit your sleep target either clock out Time.
