How to turn off Instagram feed recommendations for an entire month

Instagram may be rolling back its awfully received TikTok-style redesign and cutting back on the app’s relentless avalanche of recommendations, but that won’t stop recommended content from appearing all over your feed. It turns out there’s a solution for this that you probably didn’t know about; I didn’t even know it was a thing until Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, mentioned it in one of his stories earlier this week.

It is possible to be reminded of recommendations and suggested posts from your main Instagram feed for 30 days. Hallelujah! And even better – it only takes a few taps.

How to remind Instagram feed recommendations for 30 days

  • Scroll through your main Instagram feed until you find a . don’t come on recommended post, These are usually accompanied by an explanation of why you are watching them, such as “Because you watched the reel from ____” or “Because you followed ____.”
  • Tap the X in the top right. When you do, you’ll see text confirming that the specific post has been hidden. But we’re not satisfied with just eliminating one recommendation, my friend. We want to be free from as many of them as possible.

I suspect many people don’t even know about that useful “snooze” option.

  • From the listed options, tap on Remind all suggested posts in feed for 30 days,
  • After that, a green checkmark will appear confirming that your feed will not contain the suggested post for the next 30 days.

Savor next month, because it will be free of posts you don’t care about.

And with that, you are all set. Keep in mind that clearing your feed of suggested posts won’t stop you from seeing many of Instagram’s in-feed ads. But it’s an easy way to at least take some More control over how the app works for you.

Don’t forget that you can now also sort your feed chronologically by tapping and selecting the Instagram logo in the top left Following,
