Over the past few weeks, the Fetterman and Oz campaigns have been locked in an online headline for tat as the midterm election cycle heats up in Pennsylvania. The Oz campaign has repeatedly slammed “radical liberal” John Fetterman on Twitter for his 2016 Bernie Sanders endorsement and “crazyer than you think” policy platform. But instead of shielding Fetterman from criticism, his campaign has embraced the attacks as material inspiration.
The standoff came to the fore on Wednesday when Dr. Mehmet Oz posted a photoshopped photo of Sanders and Fetterman, taken from the film, as a glamor shot of a 1980s department store. step brother, Mocking the meme’s crummy editing work, the Fetterman campaign replied with an image reading, “Graphic design is my passion.”
Joe Calvello, communications director for the Fetterman campaign, said the approach is largely driven by his opponent’s social presence. “Too much time, [Oz] just asking for it,” he added ledge on Wednesday. “I don’t know why he posts poorly.”
Invoking the infamous graphic design meme was only the latest troll of the Fetterman campaign to criticize Dr. was targeting Oz. Last week, campaign Enlisted “Jersey Shore” Star Nicole Polizzi, known as “Snooki”, for scolding Oz at his alleged New Jersey residence. “I heard you moved from New Jersey to Pennsylvania looking for a new job,” Snooki said in the video. “Personally, I don’t know why anyone would want to leave New Jersey, because it’s the best place ever, and we’re all hot shit.”
Pennsylvania voters have about four more months to decide who to send to Washington. But for now, “we let the people decide the ratio,” Calvello said.
