Lucid Motors is leaning on the dark side with a new trim package called the “Stealth Look.” Dim styling options, with a total of 35 new exterior design cues, will be available for the full range of Air electric vehicles starting this week.
Changes include mirror caps, glass roof trim and frame around the headlights and taillights. The platinum finish has been replaced with something called a “dark stealth polished finish”. Lucid said the goal is to refill the Air, which is the company’s only model in production with “a deep and openly sporting personality”.
The Stealth Look will be available as an option for Air Grand Touring Performance, Air Grand Touring and Air Touring. Depending on the model, the Lucid offers 20-inch or 21-inch wheels with satin black inserts. Buyers can pair the stealth look with any exterior colour, which is currently limited to white, black, silver, gray and red.
Lucid is offering the Stealth Look for an additional $6,000 in the first quarter of 2023. The new exterior styling will be publicly unveiled on Wednesday, 17 August during Monterey Car Week at Motorlux.
The unveiling of the new trim package came at an arguably difficult moment for the Lucid. California-based company Newark recently revised its expectations for 2022 to between 6,000 and 7,000 vehicles, slashing its production forecast for the second time this year.
