Sony releases ten minute trailer the last of us part 1 on Thursday, where the game’s director talks about some of the improvements coming to the PlayStation 5 remake of the iconic game from Naughty Dog. The trailer takes a lot of opportunities to show off better graphics (which look as good as in the leaked screenshots, but it’s not like the game was ugly on PS3 or PS4), but the most interesting includes the gameplay changes – Naughty Dog’s That’s to say the AI for enemies and companions will be improved, that there will be some additional gameplay modes, and audio descriptions for accessibility in the game’s cutscenes.
When it was originally released in 2013, the last of us AI was nothing special. The remake, however, apparently does produce the last of us part 2There’s a more modern system for controlling NPCs, which makes them better at working together and comes with a more complex strategy than “running straight at the guy with the shotgun”. According to Neil Druckmann, creative director of both the last of us game, it makes for more intense fights. Your teammates’ AI has also apparently gotten an upgrade, which should hopefully avoid immersion-breaking experiences where Ellie or Henry run into an enemy who then has to act like they notice. did not do.
In terms of gameplay modes, the remake will apparently include a Permadeath Mode for those who really want to try their hand at surviving a zombie (er, sorry, “infected”) apocalypse. There’s also a Speed Run mode, although the trailer doesn’t give a lot of detail on that, other than that the game will display a timer in the upper right corner.
The trailer also includes a few other neat details – apparently the character animation system has gotten an overhaul, the game has improved, which will supposedly make it feel like you’re actually a giraffe in that one famous scene. are petting you, and Naughty Dog details some of the things it’s doing with adaptive triggering, one of the PS5’s best features. If you’re interested in the remake at all, I’d recommend watching it.
Personally I’m still not sure if all this is enough to get me to replay the game (I’ve already gone through it on PS3, and then played PS4 Remastered), but it seems that It’s worth choosing for those who have never experienced it, or who are looking for an excuse to play another. the last of us part 1 2 is set to release on September 5 for PlayStation 5 and for PC sometime in the future.
