The Air Force would eliminate 150 aircraft, including A-10s.

The Air Force's fiscal 2023 budget calls for the elimination of 150 aircraft, including older A-10 Warthogs, F-22A Raptors, T-1 Jayhawks, and KC-135 Stratotankers.

Under the proposed 2023 budget, the Air Force would also purchase fewer F-35As and HH-60W Jolly Green II combat rescue helicopters.

The majority of that increase would be spent on R&D, testing, and evaluation, as well as procurement.

The requested RDT&E spending, including funding for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent, would increase by $9 billion.

This budget demonstrates the "transformation that we are attempting to achieve" in order to deal with the changing threat environment.

He added that the Air Force intends to lay the groundwork for further changes in the 2024 budget.
