The Air Force would eliminate 150 aircraft, including A-10s.

The Air Force's fiscal 2023 budget calls for the elimination of 150 aircraft, including older A-10 Warthogs, F-22A Raptors, T-1 Jayhawks, and KC-135 Stratotankers.

Under the proposed 2023 budget, the Air Force would also purchase fewer F-35As and HH-60W Jolly Green II combat rescue helicopters.

The proposed budget for the Department of the Air Force, which includes both the Air Force and the Space Force, would increase by nearly 7% to $194 billion.

The Air Force's share of that budget would be approximately $169.5 billion.

The majority of that increase would be spent on R&D, testing, and evaluation, procurement, and operations and maintenance.

Only RDT&E spending would be increased by $9 billion, including funding for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent, NGAD, and the B-21 family of systems.

He also stated that the Air Force intends to lay the groundwork for further changes in the 2024 budget.
