Blue Origin suffer anomaly during launch

Today (Sept. 12), Blue Origin experienced a problem during an unmanned space flight,

but the company was able to successfully recover its capsule, officials stated during a live broadcast.

A fault with the New Shepard booster occurred just before the flight reached an altitude of 30,000 feet,

the company's uncrewed New Shepard capsule today activated its emergency escape system in response (9,000 meters).

The escape mechanism performed as expected, launching the capsule out of harm's way and enabling it to descend safely to Earth through parachutes.

The booster's fate is unknown, but it was probably destroyed.

Today at 10:27 a.m., New Shepard blasted off from the West Texas launch facility of Blue Origin. EDT (14:27 GMT) after being delayed by almost an hour for unknown reasons.
