It is well known that Khamzat Chimaev loses a significant amount of weight in order to reach the Welterweight limit.
Videos of the Chechen athlete working hard to lose weight have previously been posted,
it is plain to see that he is enormous for just weighing 170 pounds. Chimaev may have picked up yet another flawless victory
in his first-round submission win over Kevin Holland (HIGHLIGHTS) at UFC 279, but the question still remains:
what went so horribly wrong in this weight cut? While technique is undoubtedly an important factor,
Chimaev's size and strength haven't been hurting his ability to overwhelm and dominate the competition.
Chimaev and the promotion have repeatedly advanced the claim that "Borz" might have reached his weight goal if a doctor hadn't intervened and stopped him.
