KC-46 Tanker Made Emergency Landing

AKC-46A Pegasus was forced to make an emergency landing this afternoon after a refuelling boom malfunction left it dangling below the aircraft.

The landing was completed with nine people on board, not including the pilots and crewmembers

the boom scraping along the runway as the tanker touches down. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The KC-46A in question was assigned to the 157th Air Refueling Wing at New Hampshire's Pease Air National Guard Base

The tanker was reportedly joined by another KC-46A while participating in what the 157th described as a "orientation flight

"The orientation flights of two KC-46 jets flew a congressional delegation of 16 staffers from the offices of U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan

The 305th Air Mobility Wing's emergency services responded and safely secured the scene, with no fire or injuries to crew or passengers."
