New solar satellite data

The China National Space Administration says that while the Chinese solar observation satellite was in orbit, it did a lot of important scientific and technological work.

The ancient Chinese sun goddess Xihe was the inspiration for the name of the satellite Xihe

It has done spectral scanning and imaging of the sun's H-Alpha waveband and recorded the dynamics of solar activity in the photosphere and chromosphere.

The space administration said on Tuesday that the spacecraft has also gotten spectral lines of the sun's H-Alpha waveband, neutral silicon atoms, and neutral iron atoms.

Scientists have never done any of these things before, and they are expected to make a big difference in the study of the sun and solar system.

The government held a ceremony in Beijing on Tuesday to show the public what the Xihe mission had done in terms of science and technology.

Xihe was sent into space in October 2021 from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province. It was also known as the Chinese H-Alpha Solar Explorer.
